What is an asset?

Assets are the primary resource on cloudlayer.io, generated either through integration or the API. They may represent the generated contents of many types, such as an image, pdf, or any other document type generated.

Each generated asset gets stored in your account's cloud storage (if you have storage enabled, it gets enabled by default). During the generation of an asset, the completed response will return an assetUrl, a publicly accessible URL for your asset.

The asset is cached and stored on the Edge in our Global Content Delivery Network. You do not get charged an API call or bandwidth for accessing your assets from the assetUrl.

Assets get stored for the lifetime of your account. If your account is canceled or delinquent, we will remove all of your assets from cloud storage and the CDN after 90 days of inactivity.
