# What is an API Credit?

An API credit is what you get charged for using our service. Most API calls are a single API Credit, so 1 API Credit equals 1 API Call in most cases. However, some calls cost additional API Credits, so please take a [look at our documentation](https://docs.cloudlayer.io) to understand those situations. 

In addition, taking a look at the job details shows you the API Credit cost for the job.
