# What if someone signs up for free account with affiliate program?

In the cloudlayer.io Affiliate Program, if someone signs up for a free account using your affiliate link, their account will still be attributed to you. This means that if they decide to upgrade to a paid plan later, you will receive the 50% lifetime commission on their subscription cost. This attribution ensures that you are rewarded for your marketing efforts even if the user initially chooses a free account and upgrades at a later time.
